ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR - APRIL 2008

I. Exhibitions

Temporary Exhibitions
(I) On the occasion of 118th Birth Anniversary celebration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Salar Jung Museum organized a special photo exhibition on the subject Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on 13th April 2008. Sri P. Krishnaiah, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Central Railway, Secunderabad inaugurated the exhibition. 250 photographs were displayed in the exhibition.

(II) On the occasion of World Heritage Day, the Salar Jung Museum and National Library Archives of Iran jointly organized a special exhibition “Iran at a Glance” on 17th April 2008. This exhibition was inaugurated by Hassein Yazdan Mogtiadan, H.E. the Consulate General, Islamic Republic of Iran

(III) Exhibition on “Muhamadyat” the Salar Jung Museum and Darul Arab, Hyderabad jointly organized a Calligraphic Art Exhibition of Mr. Fareedul Ali an Prophet Mohammed in 500 styles on 27th April 2008. This exhibition was inaugurated by Moulana Abdullah Azeem. Imam of Mecca Maszid.

II. Special Lecture

A special lecturer on life History of “Thadagatha” (through paintings) was arranged by the Historical Society of Hyderabad and Salar Jung Museum on 13th April 2008. Sri K. Murali Prasad, Artist, SIET., Hyderabad delivered the Special lecturer.

ii) On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 118th Birth celebrations, Salar Jung Museum organized a memorial lecture on Dr. B.R Ambedkar, Dr. P. Sudhakar, Director (News), Doordarshan, Hyderabad delivered the lecture on 30-04-2008.
