ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR - JANUARY 2008

I. Exhibitions

Temporary Exhibitions
On the occasion of Museum Week the Salar Jung Museum organized a special photo exhibition on "Salar Jung Museum at Dewan Deodi before 1968". 175 black and white photographs were displayed in the exhibition. Dr.A.K.V.S.Reddy, Director, Salar Jung Museum inaugurated the exhibition on 8th January 2008.

On the occasion of 59th Republic Day Celebration the Salar Jung Museum organized a special exhibition on Our Leaders. 118 rare photos of the leaders of India were displayed in the exhibition. Dr.A.K.V.S.Reddy, Director, Salar Jung Museum inaugurated the exhibition on 24th January 2008.

II. Special Lecture

A special lecture on "Rise and fall of Nizam was arranged by the Museum on 15th January 2008 Sri Mallikarjuna Sarma Rao, an eminent scholar delivered the lecture on 11th January 2008.

Museum Week

The Museum Week was celebrated by the Museum from 8-14th January 2008. Special photo exhibition on Dewan Deodi before 1968 was arranged on this occasion.

During the week Rangoli competition was conducted for the ladies on the occasion of Pongal in January. 70 women actively participated in the Rangoli competition.
Rangoli competition was also conducted for women staff members. Prizes were distributed to the winners. Physically challenged persons were allowed free entry in to the Museum during the Museum Week.
