ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR - JANUARY 2009

I. Exhibitions

Temporary Exhibitions
On the occasion of the Museum week (8th – 14th January’ 2009) the Salar Jung Museum organized a special photo exhibition on Monuments of Hyderabad - Qutub Shahi and Asaf Jahi period. This exhibition was inaugurated on 7th January’ 2009.

II. Special Lecture

i) Salar Jung Museum and Historical Society of Hyderabad jointly arranged a lecture on Basaveswara and Basava Kalyam (Basava Kalyam through ages) by Sri. K. Venkateswar Rao, Dy. Supt. Archaeologist (Retd), A.S.I. on 10th January’ 2009.

III. Other Activities

Study visit by the Committee on Papers Laid on the Table of Lok Sabha under the Chairmanship of Sri. Hannan Mollah visited Salar Jung Museum on 15th January, 2009.

IV. Museum week

During the week, Rangoli competition was conducted for the ladies on the occasion of Pongal. 75 Women actively participated in the Rangoli competition. Prizes were distributed to the winners.

Republic Day:
The Salar Jung Museum celebrated Republic day on 26th January’ 2009. The Director I/c. Salar Jung Museum took Guard of Honour by CISF Security Staff
