ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR - JULY 2008

I. Exhibitions

Temporary Exhibitions
A special festival exhibition was organized on the occasion of Birth Anniversary celebrations of Mouled-E-Kaaba on 30-07-2008 by the Salar Jung Museum. Mr. Yousuf Qureshi, Hon’ble Chairman, Minority Commission, Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the special festival exhibition. Mr. Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh has also attended the exhibition. 31 Manuscripts and Calligraphic panels (Arabic and Persian) were displayed in the exhibition

II. Special Lecture

Salar Jung Museum and Historical Society of Hyderabad jointly organized a special lecture on Planet Earth & Health Building a Safer Environment by Ms. Vandana, a student of Kasturba Gandhi, College. She was a delegate for the International year of “Planet Earth” organized by UNESCO at Paris in February, 2008

III. Mobile Van Exhibition

The mobile van exhibition was sent to 19 Educational Institutions in and around Hyderabad and Secunderabad cities and 10,350 students availed the mobile van exhibition facilities.

IV. OTHER ACTIVITIES

30 Children who lost their parents in terrorist attack in Kashmir visited the Salar Jung Museum under Sadbhavana Yathra from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari, under the guidance of Army Staff and the Museum has provided free guide service and hospitality to them. The Museum was kept open on Friday the 18th July, 2008
