ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR - JULY 2009

I. Administration:

1. The Executive Committee meeting of the Salar Jung Museum Board was held on 10th July, 2009. Prof. T. Tirupati Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University and Chairman, Executive Committee presided over the meeting. Administrative subjects were discussed in the meeting.

2. The Finance Committee meeting of the Salar Jung Museum Board was held on 10th July, 2009. Smt. Dolly Chakrabarty, IA & AS., Accountant General (A&E) Andhra Pradesh and Chairman, Finance Committee presided over the meeting. Financial subjects were discussed in the meeting.

II. Educational Activities

1. Temporary Exhibition
A special exhibition on “Moulood-e-Kaaba:Hazrat-e-Ali” was organized by Salar Jung Museum on 7th July, 2009 on the occasion of Birthday of Hazarat Ali. Janab Zahid Ali Khan, Editor, Siasat - Urdu Daily inaugurated this exhibition.








2. Lectures
Salar Jung Museum organized a memorial lecture on “Salar Jung Museum from its Inception” on 18th June, 2009. Two Museum Retired Officers i.e., Sri D. Bhasker Rao, (Ex-Keeper - Education) and Sri B. Kotaiah, Dy. Keeper (Retd.) delivered the memorial lecture.

3. Gallery talks
(i) Gallery talk on Indian Bronzes and Textiles was delivered by Museum Guide Lecturer to the visitors of the Museum on 21-07-2009.

(ii) Gallery talk on Ivory gallery was delivered by Senior Guide Lecturer to the 21 students from Council on International Educational Exchange, University of Hyderabad on 26-07-2009.
