ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR THE MONTH OF June, 2013

Educational Activities

The following events were organized during the month of June, 2013:

Temporary Exhibitions

A Special Photo Exhibition on “Portraits of Salar Jungs” was organized on the occasion of 124th Birthday Celebrations of Salar Jung III, i.e., on 13th June, 2013. This Exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Abid Rasool Khan, Chairman, A.P. State Minorities Commission.

Lectures

A Lecture on the works of“Rabindranath Tagore – in relation to some of his Literary works” was delivered by Smt.Chandana Khan, Addl.Chief Secretary YA&AT, Govt. of A.P. on the 8th June, 2013 and on the same day another lecture on “Trade & Commerce during Qutub Shahis & Asaf Jahi rulers” was delivered by Smt.Anuradha Reddy, Convener, INTACH Hyderabad Chapter


 

 

Other Activities

124th Birth Anniversary of Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Bahadur-Salar Jung – III was celebrated in the Salar Jung Museum from 13th June, 2013 for a period of one week. Dr.Abid Rasool Khan, Chairman, A.P.State Minorities Commission inaugurated the Birth Anniversary celebrations.

 

 

 

 

During inaugural function (a) Best Worker awards were given to the Class-III and Class IV Staff and (b) Educational Awards to the wards of the Museum Staff who achieved good performance in their academic pursuits during the last academic year.

 

 

 

During the period the following other events were taken place.

The Museum was kept open for half-a-day for physically challenged children on 14.06.2013.

 

 

 

Ghazal Programme was arranged on 15.06.2013.

 

 

 

 

Play titled “Biryani Aur Haleem” was organised on 16.06.2013.

 

 

 

 

 

Cultural Programme by Staff of CISF & their Children on 17.06.2013. 

 

 

 

 

A Memorial Lecture delivered by Prof. Vaikuntham on 19.06.2013on Socio-economic reforms by Salar Jungs .  

 

 

 

 

Sports and games competitions were also conducted for the Museum and CISF staff. A valedictory function was organized on20th June’ 2013. Nawab Ahteram Ali Khan, Board Member delivered valedictory address and distributed prizes to the winners. Sri Syed Zakir Hussain, Hon’ble Member also attended the valedictory function.
