ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR - MAY 2010
I. Educational Activities
1. Temporary Exhibition
1) On the occasion of International Museum Day – 2010, the Salar Jung Museum in collaboration with the H.E.H. the Nizam’s Museum, organized a special exhibition on “Heritage Showcasing Social Harmony” on 18th May, 2010. Nawab Ahtheram Ali Khan, Hon’ble Board Member, Salar Jung Museum Board has inaugurated the exhibition.
2) On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the Museum has organized a special painting exhibition on “A Tribute to Amaravathi Glory” on 22nd May, 2010. Sri Ch.Anjaneya Reddy, I.P.S., Retd. DGP inaugurated the special exhibition. Chronology of paintings by Sri Regulla Mallikarjuna Rao were displayed in the exhibition.
II. Lectures:
Salar Jung Museum in association with Historical Society of India has organized a lecture with power point presentation on “Hyderabad during the reign of Nizam VI Architectural & Cultural Review” on 8th May, 2010. Sri Khalid Mohiuddin, Consulting Architect, Hyderabad delivered a special lecture on the occasion.
III. Workshop
On the occasion of International Museum Day – 2010, a workshop on “Museums for Social Harmony” was organized by the Salar Jung Museum on 19th May, 2010.
V. Other Activities
Summer Art Camp
As a part of Educational and Cultural activities, the Museum has organized “Summer Art Camp - 2010” during 10th – 22nd May, 2010 for Children. There was good response from the children for Summer Art Camp this year as well. The participants were divided into two groups as Seniors and Juniors. The children were trained in the subjects like Landscape Paintings, Yoga, Drawing, Fabric Painting, Sketching etc.
Prof B.V. Pattabhiram attended the valedictory function as Chief Guest on 22nd May, 2010.
Death Anniversary of Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, Salarjung-III
The Museum observed the Death Anniversary of Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, Salar Jung III, the founder of the Museum on 15th May, 2010. The Officers and Staff assembled at Daira and paid homage.
