ACTIVITIES OF SALAR JUNG MUSEUM FOR - NOVEMBER 2008
I. Exhibitions
Temporary Exhibitions
The Salar Jung Museum organized a temporary exhibition on “Painting; the Love of Beauty and the Queen of the Arts; European Paintings from the reserve collection of Salar Jung Museum” on 15th November 2008.
II. Special Lecture
i) Salar Jung Museum and Historical Society of Hyderabad jointly organized a lecture on “Was 17th September 1948 truly Hyderabad Librarian Day? by Md. Ghiasuddin Akbar, Member of Poetical Society of Hyderabad and Social activist on 8th November, 2008.
ii) Dr. Sandra Smith, Head, Conservation Department, Victoria Albert Museum London delivered a special lecture on “Problems related to Conservation” on 15th November, 2008.
iii) Dr. Mark Evans, Sr. Curator paintings, Victoria Albert Museum delivered a lecture on “East and West; Art Image and Cultural Identity” on 17th November 2008.
iv) A special lecture on the occasion of Constitution Dedication day “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar the Architect of Indian Constitution” lecture delivered by Prof. E. Sudha Rani, Head, Department of History, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad on 26th November, 2008.
III. Other Activities
Children Week : The Salar Jung Museum celebrated Children Week from 14th – 20th November, 2008. During the children week school children below 12 years were allowed free entry in to the Salar Jung Museum.
Salar Jung Museum organized a special exhibition on “Children’s Art Work” during the children’s week.
During the Children Week the Museum organized educational competitions fro Junior Group (VI & VII Class Students). Senior Group (VIII to X Class Students) on 17th and 18th November, 2008.
Vigilance Awareness Week:
The Museum observed Vigilance Awareness Week and the officers and Staff assembled on 04th November, 2008 and taken pledge.
